Monthly Spotlight 2022: The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)

By Michelle Lunger

We are continuing our monthly spotlights for 2022! In 2021, each month we highlighted a different mental health organization in which we feel connected to and fully support. Feel free to get involved, learn more, or, if the option is offered, donate to the organization to help further support their message and goals. This month for January 2022, we decided to give the spotlight and donate to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA). DBSA is one of the Nation's leading organizations which focuses on mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder. To put this into perspective, both depression and bipolar disorder affect over 21 million Americans and accounts for over 50% of the nations suicides every year. DBSA offers peer-based, wellness-oriented support and empowering services and resources readily available for people in need. They offer support online 24/7, local support groups, and credible information provided by the DBSA themselves as well as other mental health care facilities. Just like DBSA, Ride The Wave values community, inspiration, wisdom, and responsibility. Join us as we stand with DBSA in their mission to provide hope, help, support, and education to improve the lives of people who have mood disorders! To learn more about the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, click on one of the links below. Coming soon, we will be doing a follow-up post about how you can find local support in times of need through DBSA and other like-minded organizations.
